Bilbo is heading to his last adventure! He is headed to Minot, South Dakota to visit Jessica @ Its Not That Bad. I will let ya'll know when he arrives. I spent the weekend at Gulf Shores with The Hunter and a few of our friends. We stayed at a very nice condo, that had 6 very nice pools. The Hydrangea Queen (Ramona) had a wonderful garden tour yesterday afternoon. She opened her gorgeous garden up to her friends so we could see her hydrangeas at their peak. She currently has 47 different varieties of hydrangeas, and 67 hydrangeas total. She just returned from a Hydrangea Festival in Donaldson, Georgia. Everything is coming to life! The garden has finally perked up, and blooms are popping up everywhere. These irises came from my grandma's old homeplace. This is the first year they have bloomed. I love to find junk I can make into treasure! I found these tiles at my favorite consignment shop. I wouldn't necessarily call them junk, I thought they were pretty cool! I had a wonderful visit with Mrs. Brown yesterday. Ya'll may remember Mrs. Brown, she is my 80 year old garden buddy and I often refer to her as my "garden Bible". I gave her a lot of daffodils last year, and they were blooming. I had to go check them out! Of course mine barely have buds on them....but Mrs. Brown's are blooming! Go figure! She told me that they had put ash on them earlier.

I took a few pictures of the upcoming daffodils at our camp. The camp is actually The Hunter's great-grandmothers house. It is only 12 acres. There is a little bit going on in the garden... New growth on the hydrangeas, and some of the daffodils popping up Kiki being lazy as usual...watching what goes on in the garden. New growth on the roses Glad to see the cold didn't hurt them to much. The walking iris however didn't fare so well. Maybe it will pull through. Woodland phlox I love the see the foliage change colors on the Nandina.

It doesn't get real cold down here in the South. Now when I say real cold....30 degrees is cold for the South. So what do Southern people do when it freezes...... They stick a sprinkler in the tree and freeze it! Everyone passing by will be in sheer amazement...including me! However, the weight also breaks the tree...no worry....just tie it back up later! We don't see ice a lot down here...
